What is Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is training for the mind!

If training is appropriate for your golf swing then it’s appropriate for your thoughts, your attitude and your character.

Thoughts, beliefs and emotions affect the operation of your mind and your body.  Thoughts affect your physical condition, the rate in which you recover, how you adapt, learn new skills, they affect your interactions with other people and how you experience the world.

Hypnotherapy targets the sub-conscious mind / the inner mind where beliefs, outlooks and habits are created, effectively making changes from the inside out. Replacing old negative habits or patterns with more constructive positive patterns and behaviours.

Hypnotherapy has a Counselling and Psychology base, it combines counselling, CBT and other modern techniques to work at a conscious level and therapy in hypnosis to cement changes at a subconscious level.

Basically it is a super-learning technique!

Never lose sight of the big vision

What is the difference between the Conscious Mind & the Subconscious Mind?

The conscious mind is in use during activities when we are concentrating on a task, actively thinking or learning a new skill.  Once we learn a new skill we do not have to actively think about it so we file it.

The subconscious mind is where these skills and programmes are then stored.  The subconscious contains our habits, our experiences, our programming and fundamental beliefs and these programmes, habits and beliefs shape our thoughts and behaviours.  Ultimately, they shape what we do.

Hypnotherapy is a natural healthy option.  Help yourself by creating more independence and more control over your life and your future.

During hypnosis, the Hypnotherapist talks directly to your subconscious mind assisting the change in negative patterns or beliefs, replacing them with more constructive, beneficial and useful thoughts, patterns and behaviours.  During treatment you will be given tools to assist you with your personal growth, helping you to help yourself to adjust your thought patterns, be independent, have more control over your thoughts, behaviours and your life.

The ability to go into hypnosis is purely your own, the Hypnotherapist is simply facilitating the experience.  Hypnotherapy is a natural healthy option that can be used in conjunction with other treatments.

Hypnotherapy & Mind Expansion is the exploration of how you think, expanding your viewpoint and learning to think in new ways.

Some of our thoughts and beliefs are based on social conditioning, parenting, religious exposure, culture, fears, expectations and some attitudes we have simply picked up from someone else. Sometimes we simply hold on to these beliefs because we think they are 'the norm.'  Often limiting thoughts and ideas are not in line with our own experiences.   The difference between our conditioning, our experience and society's expectations or the difference between who we are and who we want to be can create confusion or inner conflict. Hypnotherapy is all about rebalancing thoughts and beliefs so they work for you, not someone else, so you support yourself and work toward what you want.

No two people are the same, even with the same presenting problem, each have different aspects to their situation and will need to be treated differently.  Hypnotherapy involves asking questions, talking and listening so I can get a good understanding of your particular problem and your particular situation. Treatment programmes are created together so both client and Hypnotherapist are working toward a common goal.

In between sessions, your case is reassessed to ensure that the key components of the issue are being addressed and personalised therapies are written to ensure you are getting the best treatment possible.  You may be given some homework, such as listening to a recording, reading some educational material or monitoring your performance in a particular area etc. These tasks are designed to increase awareness of your own actions and behaviours and empower you to manage yourself independently.

We can change ourselves. We can change how we manage ourselves, how we cope, our perceptions, how we see the world, our thoughts, our attitudes and therefore, how we experience life!

Why Choose Hypnotherapy?

To get your mind working for you, supporting your capabilities!

Take out the trash.  Just as you clean your house, we operate better if we get rid of the clutter and the 'junk' thoughts. By freeing yourself of old blocks, bad habits or self limiting beliefs you are able to operate more efficiently and constructively, therefore you are more likely to achieve your goals and reach your true potential.

"The mind drives the body..............The mind often determines what the body feels, what the ears hear, what the eyes see and what comes out of its mouth so it is important the mind is in alignment with what we want to accomplish in life."
